Viwe Nciya

Viwe Nciya was born in the little town of King Williams Town, a few Kilometres south from Bhisho (capital of Eastern Cape) South Africa. Viwe was born and raised in an Adventist family of two including his younger sister, Vuyokazi, where Adventist music was loved. His father sang with quartets and both his parents sang for the church choir.
Viwe grew up listening to quartet music such as the King’s Heralds and the Ambassadors to name but a few. Viwe started singing in church at the age of 9 years. His interest in singing bass started through listening to these quartets and they way their bass singers expressed themselves.
He was later sent to one of the Seventh Day Adventist church boarding schools in the Eastern Cape – South Africa by the name of Cancele High (www.cancele.co.za) where his talent for singing was groomed. Viwe was later part of the members who founded the Advent 4 quartet.
Viwe is married with one daughter, Minathi to his lovely wife Nonkululeko aka Nanana. In his spare time he enjoys playing with his daughter and travelling with his wife.
